Our Property
From the moment you pass through the gates of Goolgumbla, you know you have arrived somewhere special.
A beautifully developed property stretches as far as the eye can see: every hectare dedicated to supporting the production of some of the Australia's finest naturally bred merinos in their class.
The heart of the Riverina
Our property is proudly embedded in the Riverina's red clay soil.
Situated into the south western corner of NSW, the region is known for its warm to hot climate and flat plains, which combine to make it one of the most productive and agriculturally diverse areas in Australia.
Throughout history, the area has been home to an abundance of native wildlife and communities. In fact, the aboriginal word Goolgumbla means 'oven' – given many 'ovens' of local indigenous people were drawn to the area's natural sustainability and have lived in the region over time.
“The Riverina is renowned for being one of the greatest grazing areas in Australia.”
Native box and silver leafed boree continue growing today, just as they have for thousands of years. Pine clad sand hills punctuate the expanse, and soft loam areas suit our rainfall which averages 392 mm per year.
As proud custodians of the 21,541 hectares which combine to make up Goolgumbla, we strive to work sympathetically with the land and build on this country's rich history.
We respect our natural reserves and work in accord with the seasons, the requirements of our stock and the evolving environment.
